Fixes problems when using Screen Sharing to access the computer SS is running on. Tuning the slider all the way down will reduce CPU use significantly (particularly when no music is playing) but SS will take a few seconds to respond if the music is changed, stopped or started. Turning the slider up will increase the CPU usage and vice versa. The default value (just right of centre) should reduce the CPU time of Screensleeves and System Events while keeping SS's responsiveness to an acceptable level.

  • Adds 'Responsiveness' slider to Behaviour tab of Preferences.
  • Fixes issue with displaying Preferences sheet which may have been a problem for users in the habit of closing the floating window.
  • Adds setting to hide floating window for a more screensaver experience.
  • (Be aware that using 'keep static' overrides SS's function as a screensaver, particularly if using full-screen mode and with 'prevent system screensaver when in full-screen mode' checked)įixes a problem with wrong artwork being displayed when using Spotify and certain themes and when listening to an obscure album (caused by incorrectly always defaulting to Gracenote search under certain circs)

'Keep static' setting now always applies to the 'paused' text when the player is paused.Further work to the 'Keep static' setting.Option to find cover art from the web if no artwork available currently does nothing. No satisfactory replacement at this time.

Fixes communication problem with Audirvana (Audirvana Plus is now legacy and is no longer supported in Screensleeves, now simply called 'Aurdirvana'.).The new 'fetch from web' functionality works well most of the time, and will fetch artwork at the size required for retina screens, so should always look sharp. The 'always fetch from web' option is useful if the quality of your artwork in your player is not so good.Adds new item 'Fetch from web:' which has the options 'never/when no artwork is probided by player/always. 'When no artwork is available' is a binary choice of nothing/default artwork. Restores 'fetch artwork from web' functionality (broken for a while because Gracenote service no longer avaiable).First version built as Universal Binary, runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.(Previously, support was for the single Aurdirvana app). Adds support for Aurdirvana Origin and Audirvana Studio.TotalFinder reinvented the way I interact and work with OS X so much that I cannot imagine going back to Apple’s default file manager anymore.Downloads | System Requirements | Support Album cover artwork screensaver for MacOS Version History Recent changes v6.10.5 Released July 2022 A few weeks later TotalFinder by BinaryAge came out (as an alpha build) and I immediately started testing it.Ī year later, here we are with a final 1.0 build of TotalFinder and months of reinvented workflow to talk about. I didn’t want a standalone app, I was looking forward to something that would let me modify the native app without replacing it. I even tried to completely replace Finder.app in CoreServices, you can guess how it ended. I wanted a better Finder with dual-pane navigation and tabs, but I also wanted to be able to tweak it and customize it, yet retaining the stability and efficiency of the default Finder.app.

I grew tired of them, and most of all I grew tired of PathFinder living as a layer above Finder, but not really replacing it. None of the aforementioned apps and scripts managed to work for me for more than a month. Over the years I’ve tried many solutions to make the default OS X file manager, Finder, better and more suitable to my needs: PathFinder, a 3rd party application that can live on top of Apple’s Finder and brings dual-pane navigation and tabs to the mix, plus some custom Applescript and Automator workflows that allowed me to easily perform certain tasks like “move these files to another location” or “copy newly downloaded files with.
